Church Street Public Art Grant
This series of six precast concrete bollards installed along Church St., San Francisco in January 2002 alongsied new public housing units built by Bridge Housing. Working with a transportation theme, I created mosaic elements using car tail reflectors scavenged from local auto body shops. I built the full-sized original out of styrofoam, beeswax and plasticine and hired a precast firm to make a mold and six casts.
Models presented to the Arts Commission, and Bridge Housing for approval. Images include the full-size cardboard model and the first mosaic.
